Dear Readers and Writers,
The first issue of The Medulla Review came out one year ago, and I am ecstatic about the journal's growth and success since then.
It
is with immense joy that I bring you a host of forcefully talented
writers in Volume 2, Issue #1...Writers who come from all over the
world—Russia, India, South Africa, England, Canada, and all over
the U.S., and who come from many different backgrounds—from
high-school dropouts, visual artists, psychotherapists, philosophers
and attorneys to refugee workers. These writers tackle such events as
trauma, internet dating, murder, paradoxes, insanity, and adultery
with unique symbols of moths, extraterrestrials, rats, dragons,
scarabs, and octopii, etc. Yet, regardless of the location and background of the writer, the subject matter or style, the chosen works as a whole represent an amazing place of
sublime convergence. The poetry gives a feel of tight pulsing and
liquid, innovative verse, and the fiction brings the reader fearless experiences of imaginative depth.
I give very special thanks to Laura LaHew for her brilliant guest poetry editorship, and to Gindy Elizabeth Houston, the expressive genius who created the cover art.
After a year of long hours and hard work publishing TMR, I am still filled with the passion to feature writers who are pushing the boundaries of literature and reality, and I am grateful for all of you.
Namaste,
Jennifer Hollie Bowles
editor-in-chief
